Rhetorical Analysis Project Evaluation

I will ask myself the following questions as I evaluate your rhetorical analysis project:

• Do you establish your ethos as someone who has done their research, substantively engaged with the journal and the sample article, and has cultivated all necessary authority to talk intelligently about it?
• Do you consistently provide supporting evidence for your claims in the form of citations, quotes, or lines of reasoning?
• Does your analysis go beyond merely describing the journal and the sample article (the "how") to additionally account for why it was composed that way (the "why")?
• Does your analysis avoid engaging with the content of the article itself (the "what")?
• Are the conclusions you present about the journal and the sample article nontrivial (that is, do they present more than immediately obvious conclusions)? Are they useful (that is, would they help an aspiring rhetor to compose their own article for that forum)?
• Ultimately, are the conclusions you present about the journal persuasive?
