	T 5/15	Introduction to basic HTML, software, servers, and UNIX. Read or explore an HTML introductory resource for Wednesday.
	W5/16	Continue the introduction to UNIX and HTML. Work on the "up and running" assignment.
	R 5/17	Continue to work on the assignment. (The sample pages from class are available here.)

2	M 5/21	Discuss how to set permissions on the UNIX server. Continue to work on the "up and running" assignment. Read 6.1–6.4 of HTML & XHTML: The Definitive Guide for information on linking.
	T 5/22	Discuss project evaluation. Finish up the assignment.
	W5/23	"Up and running" assignment due. Begin whitepaper assignment.
	R 5/24	Discuss text and document design. Read part 2 (chapters 2 & 3) of The Non-Designers Type Book for Tuesday (you may want to read the book's "Review" section as well). Also, look through chapter one of either CSS: The Definitive Guide or CSS: The Missing Manual.

3	M 5/28	Memorial Day—no class.
	T 5/29	Continue whitepaper assignment. Introduction to CSS (the example from class is available here). For tomorrow, familiarize yourself with chapters 4, 5, and 6 of CSS: The Definitive Guide or chapters 2, 3, and 6 of CSS: The Missing Manual.
	W5/30	Continue working with CSS. For Thursday, continue by exploring a CSS introductory resource.
	R 5/31	Continue working with CSS. Discuss the whitepaper assignment submission and evaluation criteria.

4	M 6/4	Whitepaper assignment due. Introduction to pseudo-classes, advanced selectors, and the CSS box model. For tomorrow, familiarize yourself with chapters 7 and 8 of CSS: The Definitive Guide or chapter 7 of CSS: The Missing Manual. The example page from class is available here.
